Chief Engineer (Y2) - Applied Marine Engineering

About this course

This course is based on lecturer led learning and revision, followed by the examination on the afternoon of the final day. 

A full set of study notes is provided on application and six weeks’ preparatory study must be undertaken prior to attending the Academy.

This course and examination covers materials technology and corrosion control including heat treatment, osmosis and blistering in hulls, machinery faults, electrical plant and air start systems. Temperature, pressure, level and flow measuring instruments, fuels and lubrication, control engineering and engineering drawings are also covered.
