We are now offering a price of £975 for new bookings taken for our STCW Basic Safety Training Weeks during the period 1 December 2012 to 1 March 2013.
Basic safety training is mandatory for seafarers. Our STCW Basic Safety Training Week takes place over five days and is made up of the four MCA-approved courses:
Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities Classroom based course providing basic induction training in safety procedures, accident prevention and familiarisation with the employment conditions and working environments on board vessels.
Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting Dealing with the precautions needed to minimise the risk of fires, how fires are caused and how to extinguish them. Also involving practical training with a focus on fire fighting equipment and breathing apparatus.
Personal Survival Techniques Learn the actions to be taken by individuals to protect themselves in emergency situations, including practical training in the use of lifejackets and inflatable life rafts in a training pool.
Elementary First Aid A combination of theory and practical training for basic first aid and life-saving skills, including CPR.

Booking courses separately The courses that make up the basic safety training week can also be booked individually. During the Promotional Offer period of 1 December 2012 to 1 March 2013, if booking either Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting or Personal Survival Techniques only as individual courses, please note that these courses are also subject to a promotional price of £570 for Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting and £195 for Personal Survival Techniques.
